Thomas Dworak

Thomas Dworak is a 31 year veteran of the Wilmette (IL) Police Department.  Mr. Dworak has held a variety of positions during his career including patrol officer, detective, Traffic Coordinator and Assistant Accreditation Manager. Mr. Dworak received a promotion to sergeant in 2011 and served as a patrol supervisor on the Evening (6:30PM-6:30AM) Shift.  He is the Field Training and Evaluation Program Coordinator.

Throughout his career, Mr . Dworak has served as an Evidence Technician, Radar/Lidar Instructor, Field Training Officer, Rapid Deployment Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Firearms/Carbine Instructor, and Use of Force Instructor.

Mr. Dworak provides training classes for the North East Multi-Regional Training (NEMRT) MTU #3 in the Field Training and Evaluation Program (San Jose Model), PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor, PPCT Spontaneous Knife Defense Instructor, and Below 100.  He has presented the Field Training and Evaluation Program for Mobile Team Training (MTTIV) MTU #4 and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA. Mr. Dworak has been a Guest Lecturer for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) presenting on Use of Force and Below 100. Mr. Dworak holds the position of adjunct faculty at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of DuPage, where he instructs police recruits in defensive tactics. Mr. Dworak is a Certified Force Science Analyst through the Force Science Institute. 

Mr. Dworak is actively involved with the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). He has been selected as a presenter for the annual conference on many occasions, presenting classes on Instructor Development, Field Training, and Ground Control and Escapes.  Mr. Dworak is contributing author and the Instructor Development Section Editor of the ILEETA Journal.

Mr. Dworak holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science Degrees in Management from National Louis University. He is a life-long learner who does not fear change, but views it as an opportunity for growth.  

Mr. Dworak believes with every training session should come metanoia, or a shift of mind, for that is when true learning takes place.
